Heatwave Safety Measures! 🌞

As Summer rolls in with gorgeous sunshine and blue skies, with it also accompanies some extreme temperatures. It's crucial to take extra precaution with yourself when striking heat hits, not just everyday, but especially when aiming to maintain a healthy, balanced, productive workday.

The days are long, and can feel even longer when trying to work in such weather conditions, so, here are some simple, fundamental pointers to consider for your wellbeing in this heat!

Drink PLENTY of water! 💧~ keeping your fluid levels topped up is priority. Water is key here, especially in the heat. Your ideal daily intake should be between 2L - 3L. Other fluids are good, but your body needs water first and foremost!

Nourishing your body 🍴~ Ensuring you're eating a healthy, balanced diet throughout the day is also key in preventing nausea, sickness, heatstroke, and more. Your body requires fuel to function, but fuelling it correctly goes further. Think fibres, proteins, healthy fats, nutrients and minerals.

Keep your area cool 🆒~ though aircon may not be an option (sad), ensuring fans are on full blast, windows are open for ventilation, and using cooling / ice packs if needed, all help make the heat more bearable.

Take regular breaks! ⌛~ taking breaks from the screen, a moment for a mindful recharge, and a cooling refreshment, will help break the day up whilst boosting productivity and motivational levels.

Think smart 😎 ~ As glorious as the sunshine and warmer weather is, with it poses major health risks! Don't stay out in the sunlight too long at a time (this is recipe for heatstroke), wear your SPF, sunglasses, even a hat if it makes you feel safer. Just ensure you're protected!

Birketts Essex Soup 🍲

Last Thursday evening, Birketts LLP Law Firm hosted a charity fundraiser event at the stunning Braxted Park in Witham. The event was in aid of raising funds for vital causes across the Essex landscape and named as 'Essex Soup'.

Four fantastic charities participated in Essex Soup to gain crucial funding for their causes, chosen and donated by attendees from multiple companies and sectors. All charity speakers pitched well and it was great to hear about all the hard work they do to provide a positive impact on the community!

Whilst only one charity could claim the total donation, overall it was a brilliant event, raising the profiles of each charity, whilst enjoying the stunning atmosphere, and delicious three course meal!
